Why is Q Always Followed By U?
Why is Q always Followed By U?
And not me, or she, or they, or he?
But always U, Q must have U
What’s everyone else supposed to do?
It’s not so much I’m tired of U
(For U like me, I like U too)
But just for once let’s say it is I
That follows Q and makes it QI
And the duck will qiack
And the earth will qiake
Let’s change the rule for heaven’s sake!
Must we stick to the status qio?
I'm on a qiest. I need to know!
Just for now let’s give it a try
U take a rest, for here am I!

The Dandelion
The dandelion, there’s no denying, is largely considered a weed
To be poisoned, plucked, dug, discarded, root and stem and seed
“Uproot them! Defeat them! Destroy them! Deter them!” is the gardener’s ardent
creed
They dot our lawn, they ruin our grass
“They’re hard to dig up.
They’re a pain in the… neck. Oh heck!”
But to me, the dandelion flower– small, yellow, bright
Is a droplet of sunshine in my sight
To sit beside on a summer day and pluck and place in your hair, say
And what fine daisy chains they make strung one by one upon your neck
The leaves are jagged, it is true but if you’re hungry they will do
In salads or for dandelion wine. Then, pick a puffball; magic time!
Purse your lips, blow with flair, a gossamer cloud floats off through the air
The dandelion is a welcome friend to me
Yes, I hold the dandelion dear; I view it with affection
But, to many, I’ll admit, it is but an affliction
For them, to undo dandelions will always be a need
For the dandelion mars their grass, a tough unwanted breed
We each all have our likes and nots, our own opinions, values, thoughts
I may like best what you detest. You may abhor what I like more
‘Each to their own’ is a worthy creed
And though we may have disagreed, at the end I must concede:
One person’s flower is another one’s weed

A little about me -
I am a clown. Really--a professional clown!
In addition to performing, I am a musician and visual artist.
And now -- I am an author!
I've clowned at all kinds of venues, including for Cirque du Soleil at special events, and even in China.
I trained with the Big Apple Circus and have worked as a therapeutic Clown-Doctor since 2000.
In 2025 I acted in The Alliance Theatre's production of The Birthday of the World.
I play violin and mandolin and I love to write songs.
Much of my visual art incorporates Hebrew calligraphy.
Look for my two albums of original music:
Clap Your Hands Stomp Your Feet and Ma Tovu.
